DescriptionIn this role, you will ensure service excellence, growth, development, personnel management, and resource allocation within the Emergency Services Department. Your primary focus will be to maintain consistent high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department.
Responsibilities
  • Accurately identify real and potential problems affecting the service and implement solutions with follow-through and communication.
  • Actively participate in service, departmental, and hospital-wide committees as assigned, providing ongoing communication to those you represent.
  • Advance the patient experience agenda in the Emergency Department.
  • Coach immediate subordinates by providing feedback, constructive critique of work, facilitating individual development plans, and documenting job performance.
  • Adhere to all Human Resource policies.
  • Effectively communicate departmental, organizational, and industry information to staff.
  • Facilitate evidence-based employee engagement practices.
  • Build strong relationships and networks to achieve organizational and departmental goals.
  • Participate in employee and patient rounding, identifying and mentoring potential future leaders.
  • Enforce standards of emergency department care and develop processes to measure and ensure consistent compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate an ongoing emergency services program that assures quality patient care consistent with the Hospital mission.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policy for patient services, as well as environmental and personnel safety.
  • Oversee a Performance Improvement (PI) program that consistently monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
  • Ensure the department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Follow the Hospital Exposure Control Plans regarding Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
  • Support the recruitment process to secure staffing talent.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
