Shift: Monday thru Friday 7am to 3:30pm

The Cath Lab RN provides direct patient care before, during, and after diagnostic and interventional procedures in the catheterization lab. The RN collaborates with cardiologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after catheterization procedures.
• Administer medications, including sedatives and anticoagulants, as per physician orders.
• Prepare patients for procedures, including education and emotional support.
• Assist with patient positioning and ensure proper sterile technique is maintained.
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures such as angiograms, angioplasties, and stent placements.
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment used in the catheterization lab.
• Document procedures and patient responses accurately and in real-time.
• Provide information to patients and their families regarding procedures, potential risks, and post-procedure care.
• Educate patients on lifestyle changes and medication management as needed.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including cardiac arrest, by performing advanced life support techniques.
• Monitor and manage complications during and after procedures.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including cardiologists, radiologists, and other medical professionals.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate patient care and ensure procedural efficiency.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including procedure notes and follow-up care plans.
• Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory requirements, including infection control practices and safety standards.
• Ensure the catheterization lab is stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on lab equipment to ensure proper functioning.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Associate degree in nursing
• Registered & licensed to practice in the State of Idaho
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIH Stroke
• Previous ICU, Emergency Department, or Cath Lab experience
