Supply Chain Manager- Acute Care Hospital Experience

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic Supply Chain Manager to oversee the evaluation, sourcing, and procurement of essential medical equipment and supplies. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure the efficient distribution of medical and hospital supplies. The Supply Chain Manager will manage and develop a team, overseeing all aspects of the procurement process and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and source key medical equipment and supplies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient supply distribution.
  • Manage, train, and oversee procurement personnel.
  • Handle strategic decision-making and vendor management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Optimize procurement processes and negotiate favorable terms with vendors.
  • Manage contracts and ensure cost-efficiency and quality assurance.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements governing healthcare contracts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, logistics, or related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in purchasing, project management, or client services.
  • One year of management experience.
  • Proficiency in PC skills and MS Office applications.
  • Experience with computerized purchasing/inventory management systems.
  • Strong English grammar and business correspondence skills.
  • Understanding of purchasing methods, procedures, and laws governing transactions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with non-disclosure requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Accounting or equivalent coursework.
  • Certifications such as CPP, CPSM, CSCP, or CPIM.
  • Healthcare experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Lead projects with attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Use diplomacy and professionalism in all communications.
  • Maintain knowledge of invoice reconciliation, record-keeping, and office practices.
  • Understand and adhere to regulatory requirements governing healthcare contracts.
  • Draft, evaluate, negotiate, and manage a variety of contracts.
  • Minimize legal and operational risks through careful contract management.
  • Enhance operational efficiency by streamlining procurement processes.
  • Cultivate strong vendor relationships and promote a reliable supply chain.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Promote ethical procurement practices and compliance initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and training on ethical sourcing practices.
  • Investigate and respond to compliance concerns.
  • Manage the review process for RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
  • Oversee contract editing and ensure adherence to guidelines.
  • Lead a team of procurement staff to optimize processes and implement best practices.
  • Manage returned or undelivered mail and resolve address discrepancies.
  • Review monthly purchase records and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and update departmental policies and procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement activities.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of procurement professionals.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of relevant software and applications.
