Title: Development Coordinator

Reports to: Head of School

Start Date: Summer 2024

Position Description: The Development Coordinator works closely with school leadership to build a strong culture of philanthropy throughout the school community. The goal of the Development Coordinator is to help design programs of giving that attract the maximum gift support possible to the institution.

This is a non-exempt, part-time position with an expected range of 20-30 work hours per week. The anticipated pay range the school reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is the hourly equivalent of $25,000 to $60,000, depending on factors such as experience, education, or additional duties which may be assigned.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Support and execute on the school’s development/fundraising programs to optimally grow annual giving, major gifts, capital campaigns, and legacy/planned giving.
  • Manage special development events.
  • Cultivate a culture of giving and gratitude across all constituencies and socio-economic strata.
  • Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors.
  • Enhance existing relationships while building new relationships, systems, and programs that further tap into the generosity and resources of the community.
  • Maintain the school database of all contributors (Raiser’s Edge) and provide development reports as required, including the annual report.
  • Continually express gratitude to all donors and generate donor acknowledgement letters.
  • Oversee the Development budget and partner with the Head of School and Director of Finance to review and monitor ongoing budgetary needs.
  • Work with the Director of Finance to reconcile gifts and pledges for financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications office to create fundraising communication materials to expand and enhance the school’s visibility and reputation.
  • Collaborate with the business office to identify corporate and foundation funding opportunities and help draft grant applications as needed.
  • Report all fundraising data into DASL on an annual basis.
  • Attend Parents’ Organization meetings upon request.
  • Serve as the primary staff liaison for the All Saints Alum Parents (ASAP) group.
  • Collaborate with school leadership and staff on the development and execution of community events and activities including, but not limited to: Welcome BBQ, Welcome Workshop / All Saints 101, Back to School Night, Grandparents’ & Special Friends celebration, Fall Festival, Spring celebration event, etc.
  • Strengthen relationships with the School’s alumni and further develop alumni programming.
  • Nurture and maintain a highly collaborative relationship with the Board Chair and individual trustees, supporting them in their fundraising responsibilities.
  • Serve on the Board’s Development Committee.

Skills, competencies, and requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all school constituents while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with a “can-do” style
  • Warm, welcoming demeanor with an ability to work with a wide range of individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience working with and motivating volunteers and staff members; experience in fundraising preferred
  • Familiarity with the local community preferred
  • Ability to effectively deal with multiple priorities, functions, and activities
  • Working knowledge of fundraising data software and database management software preferred (ie. Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, Google Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must pass LiveScan background check

Working conditions:

  • Work in an office and/or classroom setting in which standing, bending, sitting, and using a computer screen for extended periods of time each day may be required.
  • Ability to access buildings and facilities throughout a 20-acre campus, with reasonable accommodations, in order to meet with students and colleagues.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and lift up to 25 pounds (reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions)
  • Work in a school environment with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and people.
  • Additional time is required beyond a normal day or week for evening and weekend meetings and/or emails.
