Role Overview

The position for Construction Inspector/Project Manager is based in Warren, NJ. The selected candidate will manage project administration and perform on-site inspections to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and industry standards. The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of cladding materials, roofing replacement/repair, and decking/balcony and stair material installation.

Key Responsibilities

General Duties:

  • Coordinate and manage internal project meetings.
  • Conduct on-site inspections, document conditions, perform field testing, take photographs, and create hand-sketches.
  • Prepare written communications with clients and contractors.
  • Interpret investigation reports and bid documents.
  • Communicate project status and promptly address issues.
  • Maintain organized records and project data.
  • Collect and communicate post-project feedback.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and knowledge.
  • Represent the company at events and seek marketing opportunities.

Technical Duties:

  • Understand construction plans, specifications, and manuals.
  • Produce inspection field reports with recommendations based on observations and relevant codes.
  • Review and evaluate change orders, assessing their impact on the project.

Client Relations:

  • Participate in client meetings, take minutes, communicate agendas, and ensure follow-up on action items.
  • Assist senior staff in planning and organizing project meetings.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the team to understand project scope, budget, goals, deliverables, and timelines.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years in an architectural and engineering consulting firm or construction industry.
  • Experience with siding installation, roofs, and decks.

Certifications:

  • Engineering/Architectural Intern or Engineering in Training Certification preferred.
  • OSHA-10 Certification preferred.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.

Skills:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards.
  • Professional and courteous interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to attend meetings and events.
  • Flexibility for overtime.
  • Familiarity with drafting software (AutoCAD, BricsCAD, Revit) preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Efficient time management.
