Position SummaryThe Materials Scheduling Planner is responsible for analyzing the master schedule against inventory and capacity to ensure production and shipping are in alignment with the master production schedule to meet customer commitments. Incumbent will take appropriate action based on analysis of material availability, capacity and any other constraints that prohibit the order from shipping on time. This involves working closely with operations leaders, supply chain and others to coordinate company targets to exceed customer expectations. They will be responsible to lead teams and provide meaningful metrics to gauge the performance adherence.
What You Will Do
  • Data analysis and reporting of key performance indicators such as: delivery performance, backlog, performance to schedule, recommits, extended lead times and forecast accuracy.
  • Drives continuous process improvement, strives to improve efficiency, likely to challenge processes where favorable alternatives may be available.
  • Data analysis on constraints against orders.
  • Prepares data to predict master scheduling demand verses backlog recovery and customer lead times.
  • Create and maintain recommit data and establish trendlines
  • Daily analysis of orders not shipped as committed and leads meetings to resolve issues.
  • Translate the monthly SIOP consensus plan by product family to a detailed weekly master production scheduled.
  • Identification and resolution of Constraints - Capacity, Resource & Material.
  • Facilitates long term capacity assessment (RCCP) and development of countermeasure/action plans.
  • Establishes production manufacturing and inventory priorities for the customer demands consistent with master scheduling requirements, inventory objectives, and service level goals.
  • Coordinates material requirements to support the stocking program and creates QR jobs.
  • Coordinate daily with required functional groups to manage the order recommit process
  • Establishes new product group schedules with requirement of the manufacturing build schedule
  • Work with customer service and product managers for customer orders
  • Work with Buyer Planners and Production Control teams to ensure necessary supply and scheduling according to customer requirements and recommits.
  • Establishes/Implements Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Special Factory Orders (SFO), Deviation Request to determine effectivity dates, and proper part disposition.
  • Implements production tools for building to actual customer demands, prioritizing builds, expediting and automating transactions per Lean concepts.
  • Large order-extended lead time process, smooth process and move start date flow schedules
  • Coordinates manufacturing activities and monitors schedule performance against plan to maintain priorities and meet established schedules.
  • Meets daily with cross-functional team to resolve delayed customer shipments, component shortages, priorities, and helps identified problems and break down barriers.
  • Reviews daily the critical shortage reports and updates the customer orders with the Product Control team and reports service level by SIOP code.
  • Communicates as needed with customer service.
  • Initiates prioritization of customer demands as a result of changes in plans or customer requirement.
  • Participates in identification and recommends disposition of obsolete and surplus assembly inventory.
  • Monitors material availability and customer orders and communicates as appropriate to production control, operations and shipping.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • In-depth knowledge of ERP and computerized integrated information systems (manufacturing, materials management, production planning, procurement and distribution).
  • Must understand SIOP/forecasting and how it relates to rough cut capacity along with finite scheduling
Experience And Skills Required
  • BS/BA degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Must have 5 years of logistics experience and functional knowledge of Oracle as it relates to shipping.
  • Must have working knowledge of ERP as it relates to Order management, purchasing and inventory
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or commitment to obtain within the first 18 months of employment.
  • Experience successfully leading and implementing projects.
  • Five years experience with ERP system using MRP/ERP. Oracle ATP is a plus
  • Skilled in production and supplier scheduling including supply chain implementation of sustaining engineering & New Product Introductions
  • Experience with rate based or flow line (non-MRP) and job shop manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in operations, inventory management, materials planning, MRP and lean manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with visual management systems.
  • Ability to effectively make complex decisions with limited time and information.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and independent problem resolution.

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
  • The expected Base Salary Range: $54,700 - $101,500. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
