Alliance for Progress Charter School is Hiring a STEM Coordinator Near Philadelphia, PA

The successful applicant will oversee the school’s overall technological infrastructure. The position of STEM Coordinator serves as the main point of for users to resolve and or diagnose possible issues.

Under the general supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the STEM Coordinator will set the strategy for the school’s information systems, compliance data, and reporting.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support and roll out the school’s information technology which includes, emails, network devices, desktop devices, handheld devices, VOIP devices, AV devices, servers, cabling,

Active Directory services, Office 365, Student Information Systems, and all supporting software.

  • Implement, support, and provide training in the schools’ educational technologies.
  • Acts as primary contact for all new information services and oversees the implementation of those services.
  • Serve as the main support within IT on user questions, customization & reporting requests, and technical problems with the school’s student information system (PowerSchool).
  • Maintain hardware such as servers, Chromebooks, laptops, iPads, firewall, switches, routers, access points etc.
  • Manage trouble tickets and helpdesk support calls with the help of support staff.
  • Open and manage service requests with vendors as necessary.
  • Develops the budget for information technology as well as oversees purchase plans related to technology.
  • Manage the school Erate program to acquire FCC funds to procure IT hardware and services while maintaining all Federal guidelines and CIPA compliancy.
  • Elevate technological challenges that arise within the admin team and work with the CEO to inform and resolve.
  • Create and implement information technology security practices and procedures, including those for both the physical and electronic access to the school district’s information technology assets and data.
  • Regular and consistent in person attendance is considered an essential function of this position.
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned or delegated by the CEO and/or the Board of Trustees.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and/or equivalent experience. Advanced degree a plus.
  • Prior experience with education technology and working with students and teachers a plus.
  • Experience managing and maintaining a Student Information System is a huge plus. POWER SCHOOL, INFINATE CAMPUS.
  • Working knowledge of Windows OS (server and client), Microsoft Admin console, JAMF, iOS,

Google Apps for Education devices and systems.

  • Good working knowledge of MS SQL. Be able to create queries and reports when needed.
  • PowerShell scripting experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of basic TCP/IP communications and Client-Server relationships
  • Experienced in writing written procedures, reports, evaluations, and technical troubleshooting notes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, identify root cause, and investigate solutions.
  • Excellent and effective communication skills.

This is a 12-month position with a comprehensive benefits package and salary is commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
