Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Surgery Scheduler. As a Surgery Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for our patients. This position requires knowledge of medical office procedures, medical terminology, and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Schedule surgical procedures and coordinate with patients, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals
- Obtain necessary pre-operative clearances and authorizations from insurance companies
- Communicate with patients regarding surgery preparation instructions, including fasting requirements and medication restrictions
- Coordinate operating room availability and schedule surgeries accordingly
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic systems
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks as needed
- Provide excellent patient service by answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and addressing any concerns or issues

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical office or similar healthcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology is required
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality is essential
- Proficient in using office systems such as electronic medical records (EMR) and scheduling software
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience as a medical receptionist or in patient service is a plus
- Experience in a OBGYN is a plus
