Alliance Steel, Inc. is seeking a weld out Lead to join our growing team. The weld out lead will be responsible and accountable for the employees, day to day functions, and safety of the weld out Lead Department at Alliance Steel. This position requires a strong leader, with a Safety-First mindset. He or she will support the supervisors, leads, and employees by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and other means necessary to be successful.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards

· Working with Quality Control Department to ensure parts are correct

· Set goals for the shop, communicates, executes, and coach for improvement

· Prepare, analyze, and issue production and performance reports for employees and shop

· Look at the schedule to ensure that the shop is adequately covered and fully utilized

· Maximize efficiencies in the shop by maintaining a shop flow through planning and scheduling

· Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the shop

· Controls costs to achieve company budgets without sacrificing safety or quality

· Observe safety procedures and correct or report any observed safety violations

· Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process

· Making sure deadlines and schedules are being met

· Leading a team of 36 employees

· Help with Supervisor responsibilities in his or her absence

· Perform other duties and responsibilities as necessary

· Anything else the job requires

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Great leadership ability and drive to learn

• Must be able to read a tape measure and perform basic math

• Must have the ability to learn new skills

• Must have ability to read and interpret blue prints

• Must have ability to answer questions throughout the weld out area

Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma

· Past Leadership position and/or duties

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, squat, stand and or walk for extended periods of time
