Essential Functions
  • Log in all received samples according to proper procedures, including labeling, logging, and acknowledging.
  • Maintain a clean and organized lab space.
  • Prepare and analyze samples under the direction of the Laboratory Manager.
  • Prepare reagents and various media for testing as instructed.
  • Perform routine maintenance of laboratory instruments and workspace.
  • Document work performed according to established protocols and compile analysis data into lab reports.
  • Conduct specific analyses or portions of analyses as directed by the Laboratory Manager.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and glassware.
  • Report non-conformances to the Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) and Laboratory Manager.
  • Perform other job-related duties and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Associate degree or higher in a physical science preferred.
  • Degrees in Chemistry, Biology, or Laboratory Science preferred.
  • General familiarity with laboratory safety and previous laboratory experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal customers and external vendors.
  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  • Professional behavior and appearance.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, follow up on pending issues, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • General knowledge of chemistry and lab analysis operations.
