SummaryThe Global Field Services (GFS) organization is a dynamic and high functioning team. As part of the Corporate and Customer Quality Assurance organization, we work closely with the tire design engineers, quality management team and manufacturing personnel based within YOHT’s global affiliates to ensure the product is performing to the customer and market’s expectations. 50% of working hours are spent making visits to the field to understand how Y-OTR products are being utilized and evaluating the products performance in real world applications. The remaining time is spent planning field evaluations, analyzing claim and test data, reporting, and providing technical support to both internal and external customers. As an experienced engineer and manager there is an expectation of providing mentorships to all team members of field services. All field services team members are expected to function independently with high level guidance from top level management. In this position you report directly to the Head of Global Field Services. There will be direct engagement with the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) . The candidate filling this open position should have knowledge with off-highway tire product with an expertise in Off-the- Road product. Duties and Responsibilities as Manager
Direct oversight of department’s daily operations
Assign, train, develop and supervise work of field services department.
Responsible for the hiring of new team members and retaining key members.
Ownership of all the technical training material, which will involve working with different internal departments and possible outside consultants.
Work with Management to identify key strengths and members of the Field Services team.
Duties And Responsibilities As Field Service Members
Provide technical support to field sales staff and customers in North America
Plan, conduct, and report results of field investigations
Analyze test and claim data to convey tire performance to internal and external customers as appropriate
Provide On-site warranty support for OE and AM distributors/customers as needed
Proactive customer engagement to determine any perceived/actual product issues and their resolution
Identify opportunities for product improvement and advocate for changes
Plan, conduct and report on competitive benchmark testing in collaboration with regional sales and product management teams
Support organization, planning, and conducting training sessions for sales and customers
Evaluate use and maintenance conditions to make product recommendations and/or recommendations regarding use and maintenance that will improve product performance
Provide mentorship to all Field Services team members
Represent Y-OTR in industry associations and standardizing bodies
Assist in conducting customer satisfaction surveys
Any other duties as assigned by corresponding management.
Essential Knowledge And Skills
Mechanical aptitude. Background with commercial vehicles and applications and/or tire products involved in AG/OTR/TBR market segments
Ability to communicate at a high level, both technically and commercially applying discretion for the current audience
Strong interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication
Data driven, detail oriented, self-motivated, organized.
Team leader who can lead by example.
Ability to work in cross culture environment.
Able to communicate in English (an additional European language is a plus)
Education and Experience
BS degree in engineering, math, or science
2 years experience as a Manager/Leading a team
7 years of relevant engineering experience
Ability to travel 50%
Able to handle heavy tires, tire and wheel assemblies, and proficiency in utilizing tools and relevant equipment.
High proficiency in conducting data analysis and creating technical reports
