General Manager Fuel Facility - Charleston International Airport - CHS
Job Responsibilities – This position will be responsible for all fuel system activities at Charleston International Airport (Allied maintains and operates the Tank Farm and services all commercial flights at Charleston International Airport as well as administering contracts with the Boeing Corporation). The management skills required for this position are a strong knowledge of and understanding of tank farm operations and tanker fueling operations. Also required are an understanding of environmental regulations, budgets, management, and oversight of approximately 50 employees, payroll, customer relations, etc. Candidate should have knowledge of environmental regulations, OSHA laws, spill prevention and fuel storage facility maintenance and operations in accordance with ATA 103 and company regulations.
Responsibilities:
· Provide strategic leadership and direction for the entire aviation bulk fuel facility operation as well as the into-plane operation.
· Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
· Manage a team of approximately 50 personnel, including supervisors, technicians, and administrative staff.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional customer service.
· Develop and manage the facility budget, controlling costs and maximizing profitability.
· Collaborate with Airport engineering teams to ensure the integrity and proper maintenance of storage tanks, piping systems, and other facility infrastructure.
· Provide administrative support for the facility, including managing permits, licenses, and other regulatory documentation.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
· Minimum 2 years of experience in aviation fuel facility operations and maintenance, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
· Proven track record of leading and managing a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Demonstrated expertise in safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality control procedures for aviation fuel.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
· Proficient in MS Office Suite and relevant industry software programs.
