POSITION TITLE: Product Engineer
PAY GRADE: Salary Exempt
BUSINESS UNIT: Engineering Dept: Engineering-70
REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager
PURPOSE: An effective Product Engineer holds safety as a value. Demonstrates safe work practices in all they do and has no hesitation notifying anyone of an unsafe situation. Under general direction, organize and lead tooling and product design activities as well as facilitating related team activity with minimal supervision for all projects assigned. Regularly communicate to all stakeholders, both written and verbally, information about the status and strategies of meeting established project goals.

2.11 Ability to review applications and use computer aided drafting and design systems to create and develop detailed drawings and designs.
3.0 KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering related program preferred.
3.1 Proficiency in SolidWorks and other relevant engineering software.
3.2 Strong understanding of engineering principles and design fundamentals.
3.3 Previous product design or tool design experience.
3.4 Injection and custom molding organization
3.5 Four years of related experience.
4.0 MENTAL/VISUAL REQUIREMENT:
Ability to communicate well in both verbal and written forms. Ability to generate reporting documents and participate in team meetings. Self-motivated with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment. Good general ability with use of computer touch screens and written documents. Basic math skills, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
5.0 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The primary job function involves the ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, walk, use hands to feel or handle objects, tools, or controls; reach and lift with hands and arms; talk, see and hear. The associate will work in an office setting and may repeatedly/occasionally be required to perform repetitive work tasks. Use of hands and wrists continuously. Must be able to carry, push, pull or lift to 30 lbs. occasionally. Engage in occasional bending, stooping, and squatting. The associate may need to be available for extended hours if needed and assist in emergency situations. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice, based on business needs.
6.0 WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the essential functions of the job the associate will work in an office area and may need to travel through the production area. Safety glasses, closed toe shoes, and hearing protection may be required in the area that you are working/traveling in based on our safety PPE standards.
