The Manager, IS Operations will be in charge of providing leadership for the System Administration and Billing File teams, which involves making important policy and strategic decisions, as well as the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures. The Manager will also help promote a company culture that encourages integrity, and a high level of performance. This Manager works with application owners and stakeholders to guarantee that the application, project, and strategic initiative implementations are fulfilling all business needs. The Manager oversees and prioritizes the direct reports’ day-to-day workload and availability, making decisions both independently and in coordination with peers. Leadership (40%)
Provide inspired leadership for the teams and support the ETG division brand by empowering the technical staff to be highly effective contributors. Help promote a culture that encourages employees to be responsible for ensuring applications perform to corporate standards for stability, performance, availability, and security. Lead the department, a team of technical professionals, by assigning workloads, and setting priorities.
Mentor team members and Supervisors of the department, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Develop and implement comprehensive training plans for employees, fostering continuous professional growth and skill enhancement. Lead the Billing File team by balancing the workloads, leveraging influence with the Digital Operations leaders to continue automating where possible, and skilling up the team members.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback to team members
Handles all aspects of managing direct reports, including hiring, firing, promotion evaluations, and rewards decisions
Facilitates and Collaborates to Deliver Business Outcomes (20%)
Works closely with the project management office (PMO) to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with what is being promised throughout the project or product lifecycle.
Works closely with the product owners and product managers to ensure a robust operational support model that can support future business requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
Consults with application and infrastructure development projects and products to fit systems or infrastructure to Operational support.
Guides and helps agile teams, product owners, and enterprise architects align with the overall Operational governance and assurance by ensuring all auditing requests are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
Work closely with the Manger, IS Infrastructure to ensure uptime availability, monitoring, and, continuous improvement for applications and systems.
Make important policy, planning, and strategy decisions which serve the organization’s Enterprise software systems by advancing the strategic vision for long-term sustainability
Reporting, Policies, and Procedures (20%)
Ensure that applications perform to corporate standards for stability, performance, availability, and security. Oversee that system changes to Enterprise software systems adhere to corporate standards.
Partner with the Infrastructure manager and their leadership when outages or service failures persist to understand what happened then work with employees to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
Develop and review IT policies and procedures to ensure that the department operates effectively and reliably with the guidance of the IT Operations Director.
Practice continuous improvement of IS service delivery through adherence to ITIL framework principles and processes. Review and approve Change Requests, as it makes sense, and be a member of the Change Advisory Board.
Translate Business Strategy into Operational Support (20%)
Understands business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determines corresponding ETG operations support and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes.
Understands emerging technology trends and disruptions and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
Translates business and technical requirements into an operational support plan with SLA’s to achieve business objectives.
Acts as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, platforms and vendor offerings to drive operational improvements and efficiencies.
Required: Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (such as waterfall, spiral, agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize, and DevOps)
Required: Understanding and knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
