Nights **Job Specialty:** Laboratory **Job Duration:** 13 Weeks **Shift:** Night Shift (5x8 or 4x10), including 2 major and 2 minor holidays **Guaranteed Hours:** N/A **Experience:** Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience preferred **License:** Required to meet qualifications as defined for a laboratory technician **Certifications:**
Med Lab Technician (AAB) or
Med Lab Technician (AMT) or
Med Lab Technician (ASCP) **Must-Have:** Associate's Degree or qualifications as defined for a laboratory technician **Job Description:**
Maintain acceptable accuracy in patient, quality assurance, proficiency, and competency testing.
Meet department standards for correct patient or specimen identification.
Achieve department standard for error rate in testing or reporting patient or QC results.
Document investigation and correct interpretation of QA failures or trends.
Earn acceptable scores in proficiency and personnel competency testing.
Maintain instrumentation for testing.
Utilize clinical and theoretical knowledge to analyze, investigate, interpret, and report lab data.
Accurately and promptly report lab data.
Recognize relationships between lab data and clinical findings or expectations.
Initiate problem investigation and work towards resolution.
Interpret information from multiple sources.
Practice information monitoring, investigation, resolution, and communication with team members.
Comply with procedures for tracking laboratory test status.
Document elements of notification procedures in the LIS.
Effectively hand off information according to department procedure and chain of command.
Demonstrate organizational skills for efficiency in time, materials, cost, and completing testing.
Meet department-defined productivity standards.
Practice cost-efficient work processes that maintain high quality laboratory data.
Maintain current personal training, education, and practice of policies and procedures.
Demonstrate adequate knowledge of laboratory regulatory compliance.
Adhere to safety standards.
Participate in meetings, committees, task forces, and project teams.
