Industrial Services Engineer

Initial term: 24 Months (position expected to run longer)

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Senior Engineer - Industrial Services (IS) for our CAPEX department in Crete, NE. This role is pivotal in completing design, construction, and start-up of Thermal (steam, hot water, cooling tower water, chill water), Refrigeration, Wastewater (drain and lift station design), Compressed Air, and HVAC for the CAPEX projects at the food factory in Crete. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of all areas and expertise in 2-3 IS areas. The ability to align these system’s designs with project needs is crucial, while delivering technical solutions accordingly. This position is responsible for ensuring the design, construction, and start-up of required industrial services (IS) for the Crete, NE CAPEX projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the project team, detailed design support, construction validation and support, and start-up of industrial services mechanical equipment, including steam systems, hot water systems, cooling tower systems, chill water systems, refrigeration systems, compressed air systems, industrial waste, and HVAC systems

• Ensure knowledge in your technical areas of expertise, coordinating with Experts/Specialists within and outside engineering to align with safety, product quality, and operations objectives.

• Oversee the safe, reliable, and efficient installation and start-up of the industrial services to meet operational demands.

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and internal requirements from design through operation of the IS plant.

• Drive resource conservation and awareness within the facility in alignment with sustainability goals.

REQUIREMENTS & EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering field.

• Knowledge of steam systems, hot water systems, cooling tower systems, chill water systems, refrigeration systems, compressed air systems, industrial waste, and HVAC systems

• Proficiency in project skills, including equipment specifications and sizing requirements, and the deliverables required to complete detailed engineering support (managing a third-party engineering consultant) and design work packages.

• General understanding of best practices for utility design, installation, and operations.

SKILLS:

• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.

• Prior experience in a manufacturing/factory environment is required.

• Prior experience on a capital project is required.

• Ability to work in manufacturing environments, including utility departments, roofs, cooling towers, catwalks, and areas with extreme temperature variations.

• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs. Requires daily walking through a construction site.
