Job Summary and Responsibilities :
Essential Job Functions :
1. Performs insurance verification on the date of service
2. Performs referral documentation promptly
3. Collects co-pays or outstanding balances on the date of service
4. Greets patient when entering the practice
5. Obtains accurate and updated patient information, such as name, address, insurance information
6. Files and maintains medical records
7. Confirms and schedules appointments
8. Answers telephone calls promptly and courteously,
9. Performs certain follow-up services for patients in a prompt and courteous manner, such as scheduling specialist appointments, scheduling follow-up appointments and obtaining copies lab results or specialist reports.
10. May include more complex scheduling for referrals, managing authorizations, or scheduling for more complex patient needs.
11. Schedules and process necessary paperwork, insurance verifications and authorizations for patient's procedures, maintain clear communication with hospital and surgical center.
12. Adheres to the standards identified in the Employee Policy Manual.
13. Cooperates with other employees to achieve specific team goals.
14. All employees are expected to keep abreast on current medical requirements relevant to their position, which includes maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by all HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
Knowledge, Education, Skills Required :
1. At least 2 years' experience in medical office setting
2. High school diploma or equivalent
3. Knowledge of medical terminology
4. Basic computer knowledge
5. Customer Service experience
6. Must have superior organizational skills and accuracy.
7. Excellent problem solving, and people skills also required.
Monday : 8 : 30am-4 : 30pm
Tuesday : 9am-5pm
Wednesday : 8 : 30am-4 : 30pm
Thursday : 9am-5pm
Friday : 8 : 30am-4 : 30pm
