About the role

Our Financial Controller will report into the General Manager of Australia and have 3 direct reports, making a team of four that oversees the broader accounting function across the Australian business.

Working from our Sydney Roastery office, you’ll oversee the day-to-day accounting functions of the business, leading your team in preparing accurate financial statements, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, enhancing processes and mitigating risk to create a robust control environment to enable the successful execution of the company’s growth strategy. You will:

• Lead, develop and support a high performing Finance team of three.
• Complete monthly reporting in a timely manner and with impeccable accuracy to enable high quality decision making across the business
• Review all tax matters ensuring compliance with regulations and requirements of the ATO are met
• Oversee and review all statutory reporting and audits
• Manage business cashflow
• Lead and review monthly Inventory management and stock take, ensuring strong internal controls and process
• Review payroll preparation ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Manage the relationship with our outsourced IT provider to ensure the information technology and telecommunications systems are operating effectively.

About you

You’ll be a seasoned and process-driven Financial Controller ensuring financial integrity and compliance across the business. Genuine and warm with a meticulous approach, strong leadership capability and time management skills you’ll be a vital part of the Australian Allpress team. To nail this role you’ll need:

• 7-10 Years Experience, with minimum 2-3 years as a Financial Controller

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, CPA
• Proven expertise in financial reporting, internal controls, and process
• Demonstrated experience in Financial Reporting & Statement Preparation, Accounting & Internal Controls, Regulatory Compliance & Audits
• People management experience with the ability to inspire and influence your team as well as business stakeholders
• Exemplary time management and organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail and solutions focused
• Previous experience demonstrating finance process improvement in previous roles
• Well versed in risk management and mitigation, sound knowledge of compliance and ATO requirements.
• Ideally have experience in Manufacturing / FMCG with responsibility for product costing and inventory controls
