Allwell Behavorial Health Services is Hiring a CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY PREVENTION SPECIALIST Near Caldwell, OH

Responsible for providing education and prevention to individuals of all ages, their families and other community stakeholders regarding the disease of addiction, interventions, and resources available to aid in recovery. Prevention Activities may include, but are not limited to: increase awareness about chemical dependency and related issues; increase protective factors and decrease risk factors; promote safe & healthy lifestyles; field trips to expose youth to new, exciting and challenging culturally diverse activities to increase self-esteem, social skills and reduce onset of substance use; provide knowledge, understanding and skills needed to make intelligence, healthy choices about alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. Direct treatment services include individual, group, IOP, SUD case management services.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Facilitates individual and group education/prevention activities in schools, jails, agencies and community events
  • Provides direct treatment services including individual, group, IOP, SUD case management services.
  • Develops a plan of activities and informational handouts for each event/group utilizing resources
  • Promote awareness on the disease of addiction, symptoms/behaviors, treatment options including Medication Assisted Treatment (M.A.T.), and community resources available.
  • Facilitates group sessions and/or IOP
  • Meets individually with clients referred for addiction services to screen, assess needs, treatment planning, provide case management, counseling and consultation.
  • Will provide crisis intervention as deemed appropriate by clinical supervisor and refer to other services as needed.
  • May transport clients for group functions in accordance with Allwell safety policies.
  • Maintains and submits required paperwork as verified by QI reports, business office reports and as observed by clinical supervisor.

Abilities/Skills:

  • Must possess good organizational and communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment skills and utilize basic problem solving skills.
  • Able to resolve crisis situations in the most clinically effective manner.

Education/Experience/Licensure:

  • Associate degree, minimum of CDCA PRE and willing to obtain OCPS certification from the Ohio Chemical Dependency Board, if not currently held with minimum of one year experience.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid, and maintain all certifications.
