POSITION: Middle School Social Studies Teacher

LOCATION: Donald L. Pavlik Middle School

REPORTS TO: Jennifer Huntoon, Principal

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education
• Must be highly qualified to teach 6th – 8th grade Social Studies
• Meet requirements for background check and fingerprinting.

Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:
A successful candidate will possess:

• Successful experience working with middle level age students
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Knowledge of content expectations pertinent to the grade level and subject areas taught
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate instructional techniques for middle school aged students
• Ability to relate and instruct students in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings
• Ability to develop and use strategies to improve student achievement in all core content areas
• Ability to use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction
• Ability to contribute to a professional learning team
