We are seeking a skilled Loader / Telehandler Operator with experience in telehandler operations and steel assembly & erection. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, detail orientation, and effective teamwork.

This position is a 6 – 8-week contract working 6 days on, 1 day off working on a project in the area of Fargo and Jamestown North Dakota.

Key Accountabilities:

• Demonstrate safe operating procedures and understand equipment limits.
• Provide information to support informed decision-making by Field Supervisor.
• Safely and efficiently place a variety of material sizes on both even and uneven ground.
• Read and interpret layout drawings to understand steel frame types and designated layout.
• Operate equipment at or near the upper limits and in restricted spaces.
• Safely operate a loader and/or telehandler to load and unload materials from transport trucks.
• Assist in securing a variety of load types, including equipment and materials
• Assist with loading and unlading heavy equipment onto trailers.
• Maintain good housekeeping habits to prevent injuries and property damage.

Qualification:

• Basic construction experience is an asset.
• Experience in steel erection and assembly.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Class 5 Driver’s License; Class 1 Driver’s License is an asset.
• Basic construction hand tools.
• Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance requirements and industry-related tools is an asset.

Work Environment:

• Construction environment
• Exposure to loud noises and extreme temperatures.
• Physical demands include bending, twisting, crouching, kneeling, standing for long periods, lifting weights up to 50 pounds frequently, and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally.
• Fast-paced with tight deadlines, shift work, and overtime based on operational needs.
• PPE must be worn at all times.
