Job Title: Java Mainframe Developer

Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid: 2 days onsite, 3 days remote)

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Java Mainframe Developer to join our team. In this role, you'll leverage your strong Core Java, DB2, and SQL expertise to develop and enhance applications within a mainframe environment. Your ability to read and understand COBOL code will be crucial for collaborating with existing systems and ensuring seamless integration.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Java applications within a mainframe environment.
• Write efficient and optimized SQL queries to interact with DB2 databases.
• Collaborate with other developers and analysts to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform thorough testing and debugging to ensure the stability and reliability of applications.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends in Java development.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for developed applications.

Must-Have Skills:

• 5 years of experience in Java development.
• 5 years of experience with DB2 and SQL query development.
• 3 years of experience reading and understanding COBOL code.
• Solid understanding of mainframe concepts and architecture.
• Proficiency in writing well-structured, maintainable, and efficient Java code.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) cloud platform.
• Knowledge of front-end development using Angular or React.
• Familiarity with web services development.
