We are looking for a talented Senior Strategist with a hybrid focus on Brand and Comms planning to join our fast-growing Zulu Alpha Kilo NY team.

The best planners today naturally flex between brand and communication strategy to inspire breakthrough, effective creative work. They know that a big idea today is only as powerful as how it shows up, and that creative magic lies at the intersection of left & right brain thinking.

In this role, you will be an engine of creative inspiration and comms clarity on a major travel account as well as new business efforts. It is a great opportunity for a self-starter who wants to make a bigger impact at an independent shop, and stretch their skill set.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Translate a client brief into an inspiring strategy that can bear creative fruit across multiple channels, cultural moments and audience mindsets
• Develop razor-sharp comms approaches, rooted in consumer insights, that put messaging, channel and rollout thinking into clear and actionable focus
• Own cultural, consumer, competitive and category analysis to uncover interesting opportunities on an ongoing basis – with a focus on modern marketing channels
• Operate independently. Can act as lead strategist on small to mid-size projects, and/or as the key contributor partnering with Group Strategy Director on bigger priorities
• Craft clear and compelling strategic arguments, with sound logic and evidence
• Guide optimization of creative assets based on research and channel learnings
• Use new & inspiring methods to excite creative teams, unlocking creative potential in tactics big and small that take advantage of both traditional and digital channels
• Instill client confidence in a particular creative strategy and/or comms approach
• Drive collaboration between creative and media; lead conversations with media agency
• Identify opportunities to constantly improve the quality of thinking for our clients

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Right/Left Brain Thinker and Inspiration Engine
• 4-7 years as Strategic Planner at a Creative Agency, with exposure to Comms & Brand
• Creatively-led. Loves translating big ideas into creative opportunities big and small
• Concise and engaging written and verbal skills. Strong at deck and framework craft
• Resourceful, excited by constraints of any given assignment
• NYC-based (Flex In-Office Policy)
