Job Title: Director of Business Development - Foreign Affairs
Work Location: Vienna, VA
Clearance Required: Ability to obtain a clearance

Alpha Omega is seeking a Director of Business Development who has proven experience to grow our existing business footprint within the Federal Civilian market. As Alpha Omega continues to grow and expand in domains such as Foreign Affairs, National Security, and Climate Science, we are looking for seasoned Business Development & Capture leads who have successfully built relationships and sold into these markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain successful relationships with clients within the foreign affairs domain (DOS, USAID, MCC, etc.)
  • Leverage relationships to conduct client meetings and develop and execute call planning activities to understand client requirements, match Alpha Omega's capabilities to meet client needs, and shape new opportunities
  • Work with the Alpha Omega account teams to identify, qualify, and cultivate new business opportunities aligned to Alpha Omega's core capabilities in Design & Product Management, DevSecOps & Cloud Engineering, Platform Automation & Cybersecurity
  • Lead or assist with capture management and work with Proposal team to develop, edit, and evaluate technical and management aspects of proposals, leveraging client intimacy and knowledge to produce differentiated bids
  • Participate in bid decisions, the development of cost strategies, and capture phase reviews
  • Obtain marketing intelligence and competitive data pertaining to potential targeted pursuits, and develop marketing strategies
  • Work with Alpha Omega's Total Solutions Group to understand and position our capabilities and differentiators, and ultimately articulate our value proposition to clients
  • Join and participate in industry organizations (eg, ACT-IAC, AFCEA, PSC) and marketing events to elevate Alpha Omega's brand profile and contribute to thoughtful community discourse that enhances Government digital services
  • Effectively leverage supporting resources in the sales process with the spirit of teamwork and cooperation.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or relevant field and 5 years of experience in technology & solutions sales
  • Strong knowledge and experience in the Foreign Affairs domain including their missions and initiatives with the ability to open doors and drive business.
  • Demonstrated experience in BD and capture to Federal civilian agencies (e.g., developing customer relationships, account strategies, developing a qualified pipeline, building industry relationships, and leading capture and proposal activities)
  • Experience winning medium sized bids (>$5 million annual recurring revenue - $50 million total contract dollar) and larger proposal efforts
  • Confidence and experience dealing with senior executives; ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, time-sensitive, and often multi-tasking environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and create positive working environments.
