Job DescriptionAs an Echo Technician, you will be responsible for performing echocardiograms and other non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures. Your role will involve working closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to obtain accurate diagnostic information and ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform echocardiograms, including transthoracic (TTE) and transesophageal (TEE) studies.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and answering any questions.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper functioning and calibration.
- Obtain accurate and detailed images of the heart and related structures.
- Collaborate with cardiologists to analyze and interpret echocardiogram results.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the diagnostic process.
- Adhere to established protocols and standards for echocardiography.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advancements in the field.
- Associate’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a related field.
- Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- 2 years of experience as an Echo Technician preferred.
- Proficiency in performing and interpreting echocardiograms.
- Excellent technical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
