Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify medical procedures and services to ensure accurate coding and billing.
• Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payers.
• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframes.
• Identify and rectify billing errors and discrepancies promptly.
• Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues and ensure timely payment.
• Process payments from insurance companies and patients, including posting payments and adjustments.
• Generate and send patient statements, ensuring clarity and accuracy of charges.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all healthcare industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
• Stay updated on changes in billing and coding guidelines, payer requirements, and healthcare regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a Medical Billing Specialist or similar role.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and coding (e.g., CPT, ICD-10).
• Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of insurance guidelines and reimbursement practices.
• Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (e.g., Certified Professional Biller - CPB) preferred.

Experience with revenue cycle, insurance EOB or claims processing, must know excel
