Alternative Laboratories in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a full-time Mechanic to troubleshoot and diagnose problems on our production equipment. Alternative Labs is a private-label contract manufacturer of dietary and nutritional supplements offering the full cycle of product development from concept and design to manufacturing and on-time delivery. 

Exact pay is dependent upon experience.

Job Requirements include but are not limited to:

• Set up, changeover, and breakdown of Production equipment to include (but not limited to) stick pack form & fill, bi-directional blenders, pressure sensitive/ overwrap labeling, and rotary filling operations.
• Repairing and making needed adjustments to machinery.
• Maintenance experience in a food-grade facility is strongly desired
• Possess a high mechanical aptitude
• Communicate clearly and work autonomously
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.

Examples of Typical Tasks

• Breakdown, set-up, and maintenance of production lines
• Replace, repair, and troubleshoot standard production line sensors
• Change motors, heaters, relays, and starters.
• Make adjustments and repairs to drive units, sprockets, V-belts, and sheaves.
• Diagnose and resolve capper headset problems.
• Adjust and maintain can and bottle line production equipment and general plant support systems.

Preferred Qualifications -

• Possess a high mechanical aptitude
• 2 years experience as a Line Mechanic, preferably in the food and/or dietary nutritional supplement industry
• Must be able to communicate in English but Bi-lingual is a plus!
