Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Accounting to lead our financial department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and developing strategies to improve financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
2. Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
3. Lead the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
4. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
5. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
6. Support month-end and year-end close processes.
7. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Additional controller duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Masters preferred).
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license.
• Proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, chief or senior accountant.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
