Alta Equipment Company is currently seeking a Sales Representative Trainee. This role will report out of our Orland Park location. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to: Will be spending time to learn Construction Sales for our Volvo Construction Equipment, Dynapac Paving Products, and Tadano Cranes product lines and other large brand construction linesPersonal visits to customer’s applications to identify opportunities with sales repsEffective use of direct mail, phone and electronic media to communicate with prospects and customers Must be able to develop and present proposals to solve customers’ needs while working with our sales team Effectively present at the customers’ location in front of a group and show the benefits of your products and services Actively participate in the use and expansion of the companies CRM program Execute planned sales calls Participate in sales training and use tools provided to educate on your own various products and services offered by the company Review open proposals with sales management and request management participation in customer sales calls when necessary Coordinate with all departments sales strategies that exceed customers’ expectations Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activitiesPerforms other duties as assignedConsistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time Qualifications: Must possess the willingness to learn selling and closing skills1 year of heavy construction equipment sales experience is highly preferredPossess excellent verbal and written communication skillsFast paced, high energy individual with an aggressive sales styleMust have valid driver’s license, clean driving record and automobile insuranceComputer programs - Microsoft Word, Excel, OutlookLanguage Skills - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills - Intermediate: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability - High: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
