The RoleOur company is seeking an experienced ERP Data Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will create and maintain item master data and associated structures and tables within our two ERP systems. The ERP Data Specialist will work closely with Sales/Marketing, Accounting, Purchasing & all facilities to support new product development. Responsibilities
Updates and cleans up all item numbers in the system so that they can be easily identified and used by the purchasing, sales, accounting, and marketing departments.
Create item numbers for products when mills request them.
Creates item master data for new product lines for the marketing department or the purchasing department for new items.
Sets up and maintains bill of material (BOM)
Activates items by sites when the item wants to be restocked at a particular location.
Maintains the cross-reference tables in DynaStar/M3 for purchased items
Updates and maintains UDC (user-defined codes) tables.
Create and maintain a naming convention to standardize item descriptions.
Processes obsolete items in the corporate Item Master List and, at times, assigns replacement numbers to these obsoletes
Complies with JSox's guidelines and processes when creating and maintaining item numbers. Prepares documents for JSox's audits when requested
Involved in special projects related to the item master list when necessary.
Handles all transfers between mills/corporate to keep centralized
Adjusting Min/Max levels on items based on usage data
Support a global data governance model that will establish and document data creation, update guidelines, and decision rights
Serve as senior expert associated with the content processes and procedures involved with ERP
Provide support for core data needs in the ERP system
Uphold the global master data governance process
Understanding and documenting business processes to ensure that data is captured accurately and consistently
Serving as the primary point of contact for all data-related inquiries
Monitoring data entry to identify and correct errors
Performing regular audits of data to ensure accuracy and completeness
Design and implement custom reports and dashboards to monitor the health and status of master data.
Lead cross-functional projects to consolidate, clean, and optimize master data across the organization.
Develop and provide end-users with training on master data management processes and best practices to ensure proper data entry and maintenance.
Inventory & Cycle counting
Facilitate the entry of new master data records, ensuring all necessary information is collected and accurately inputted into the system.
RequirementsQualifications
High School Diploma/GED
A bachelor's degree (or higher) in a related field is preferred
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role or experience in item master duties.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Knowledge and experience working in major ERP systems and associated data structures
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven employee relations skills
Good communication and facilitation skills
Ability to plan, organize, and analyze results

Work Environment This role will operate in a professional office, with occasional visits to log yards and sawmills. While performing the duties of this job, employees will be exposed to machinery and moving mechanical parts. This position may be exposed to noise, hazards, airborne particulates, and temperature changes in indoor and outdoor weather conditions. Position Type/Travel This is a full-time position; overtime work may be required as projects or job duties demand. Travel may be required occasionally but will be minimal. Starting Pay Range: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour (starting wage will be dependent on qualifications and experience)
