As a Senior Compressor Design Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Design screw and/or centrifugal compressors from concept to detailed drawings, including pressure vessels, castings, bearings, lubrication systems, and seals.
  • Specify, select, and apply motors in compressor applications.
  • Perform stress and deflection analysis, rotor dynamics, and vibration analysis.
  • Facilitate design reviews and conduct design FMEAs.
  • Develop and execute virtual engineering and physical testing validation plans.
  • Utilize virtual development tools to predict performance and optimize compressor design.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide compressor selection recommendations and refine designs to meet application needs.
  • Stay updated on new technology through supplier relationships, technical societies, academic research, and conferences.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including technical reports, lab test results, drawings, models, and specifications.
  • Work with product engineering, manufacturing engineering, and operations to ensure compatibility between design and process capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in product design and development.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design and engineering, with practical hands-on hardware experience.
  • Expertise in one or more aspects of mechanical design.
  • Ability to select and use appropriate modeling and simulation tools, interpret outputs, and integrate information for informed engineering decisions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective communication at all organizational levels.
  • Knowledge of HVAC/R fundamentals.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven leadership in technical teams.

Salary Range: $90,000-120,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
