Alternate Ending Beer Co. is Hiring a Baker Near Aberdeen, NJ

Alternate Ending Beer Co is a brewpub that serves high hydration sourdough pan pizza, housemade desserts inluding laminated pastries and ice cream, and other high quality pub food made with thoughtful seasonal ingredients. The successful candidate will have a hands-on work ethic, energy, passion, creativity, and the desire to learn, grow and contribute. This position is part-time with the potential for full-time if desired.

Position Requirements:

  • Great attitude, team mentality
  • Love of food and hospitality
  • 1 years in the restaurant industry preferred but not required
  • 5am start time availability (Morning people, this one's for you!)
  • Weekend and holiday availability
  • Knowledge of baking techniques, basic sourdough knowledge is a plus!
  • Ability to read and follow a recipe
  • Basic culinary math skills, with knowledge of bakers' math
  • Lifting 50 lbs, standing, navigating stairs, working in a kitchen with gluten and other allergens
  • Bake multiple types of sourdough and yeasted breads daily
  • Daily pastry production
  • Learning and maintaining bread recipes, techniques, and standards
  • Reading and adhering to cleaning and safety protocols
  • Being a team player, helping other departments with prep work, cleaning, etc...
  • Attending meetings, trainings, and focusing on continuing education
  • Analyzing mistakes, finished products, and daily tasks, to maintain and improve quality of each bake
  • Work with team to create specials and specialty items
  • Work holidays, weekends and maintain a flexible schedule

Lines of communication:

  • This position reports to the Head Baker and works very closely with restaurant parters at Talula's in Asbury Park
