Our client is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the shipping department within the warehouse distribution center. This role involves coordinating shipping activities, managing a team of shipping associates, and ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment. Responsibilities:
- Team Management:
- Effectively lead and supervise a team of shipping clerks, packers, and loaders.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching and feedback.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork.
- Order Fulfillment:
- Coordinate shipping schedules to meet customer demands and delivery deadlines.
- Ensure accurate picking, packing, and labeling of orders.
- Collaborate with other departments (such as inventory control and transportation) to optimize order flow.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed.
- Address discrepancies or shortages promptly.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Address any issues related to damaged goods or incorrect orders.
- Implement quality control procedures to minimize errors.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Train staff on safe handling of materials and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for process optimization and efficiency gains.
- Implement best practices to streamline shipping procedures.

- Communication:

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelors degree in logistics or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse management.
