Job Title: Import Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the entire import process, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Monitor and analyze import trends and market conditions to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Prepare and process import documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to import shipments, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Ensure all import activities comply with international trade laws and regulations.
  • Manage and optimize inventory levels to meet customer demand and minimize costs.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in import logistics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in import management within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import documentation, and international trade laws.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
