The NICURespiratory Therapist assists with special projects, validations, andorientations. This position is responsible for having the knowledge and abilityto train staff on all NICU equipment.

Job Description

• Participates in new staff orientation and annual competency evaluations. Monitors employee validations to ensure completion.
• Participates in creating and reviewing policies and procedures. Participates in department performance improvement programs and adjusts staff assignments for other staff's participation.
• Provides staff development and improvement of clinical skills for clinical team.
• Assists with event/incident reporting for both patients and employee safety occurrences. Reports issues/malfunctions to appropriate departments.
• Functions as department supervisor in his/her absence.
• Performs pain assessment and takes appropriate action according to standard operating procedure.
