Altorfer is Hiring a Shop technician Near Davenport, IA

Working Hours / Days

7 : 30 am - 4 : 00 pm Monday - Friday, overtime when necessary

Basic Duties

  • Safely perform service and repairs, in the Altorfer shop, on Fork Lifts and Aerial Lifts for Altorfer and its customers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic diesel engines, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, drivetrain, brake systems and all other systems.
  • Establish and maintain service-oriented relationships with customers when in the field.
  • Order parts on computer system data base.
  • Complete service reports and all other paperwork after repairs are made.
  • May perform other related duties as requested and / or assigned

Qualifications

  • Completion of formal technical training program or minimum of two years’ experience in mechanical repair and / or lift truck repair experience.
  • Previous experience working on electronic diesel engines, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, drivetrain, brake systems, etc.

and possess troubleshooting skills required.

  • Computer literacy required. Must be familiar with programs such as Microsoft Office & Outlook.
  • Ability to follow all safety rules and wear proper safety equipment.
  • Maintain quality service by leaving customer’s equipment appearance in excellent condition and fix all maintenance issues
  • Excellent planning & organizational skills required
  • Must be team oriented and willing to adapt to change.
  • Ability to work overtime and some weekends when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, e-mail, and verbal) are necessary.
  • Must have your own tools and able to lift up to 75lbs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate).

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

This position works the majority of time in the equipment shop. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 75lbs.

At times you may be required to move / operate equipment to figure out what maintenance needs to be performed. The noise level in the shop environment is usually moderate to high.

This position also spends a portion of time in an office environment. May, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means.

Must be flexible to work Saturdays and overtime as needed. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
