SummaryWork Schedule/Hours: 40 hours per week, 8:00am-4:30pm and rotating weekends.
The Patient Ambassador provides nutritional care by assisting with menu selection, meal delivery, and setup. They process and track phone and meal orders, identify patients who haven't ordered, and perform callbacks. Responsibilities include making meal rounds, collecting survey information, tracking food orders, and notifying nursing and dietitian staff as needed. Proficient in therapeutic hospital diets, they ensure accurate meal orders and document feedback.
Essential Job Functions
  • Provides nutritional care to patients by assisting with menu selection.
  • Delivers meals and assist with patient meal set-up.
  • Processes phone orders and track meal orders, identifying patients who have not ordered.
  • Makes meal rounds, collect survey information, and relay pertinent details to the Clinical Dietitian or Supervisor.
  • Tracks food orders, perform callbacks to patients, and notify nursing and dietitian staff as needed.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in therapeutic hospital diets for room service and non-select meal orders.
  • Provides written documentation of feedback, calculate survey metrics, and shares feedback with staff.
  • Updates food preference and nourishment information and relay details to the Clinical Dietitian(s).
  • Notifies Maintenance/Information Services of hardware or software issues.
  • Performs stock organizing and timely inventory counts
  • Performs additional tasks such as placing orders, handling money, documenting special requests, setting up patients for tube feedings, giving dysphagia tallies, and assisting with food preparation during Home Delivery Meals.
