AM Health and Safety, Inc. (AM H&S) is a growing, client driven, full service, professional industrial hygiene, safety and environmental consulting firm that serves several markets having a strong presence in the steel/metals, utilities, heavy manufacturing, chemical, oil/gas and construction industries.
We have been providing professional consulting services for our clients nationwide and globally for over twenty (20) years. The staff and team have grown to over thirty (30) full-time and part-time professional associates who are supplemented as needed by professionals from our strategic partners.
With anticipation of growth, the firm is seeking the services of an experienced health and safety professional looking to grow both personally and professionally. This management level position will be located in our Pittsburgh Headquarters reporting to the owner of the firm. A successful candidate will be responsible for management and development of our professional industrial hygiene and safety professionals as well as being expected to assist in business development and being an integral advisor to the owner of the firm.
The individual must have extensive management experience with a minimum of 5-10 years in the industrial safety and industrial hygiene profession. Candidate must have industry experience and consulting experience and be a board-certified industrial hygienist (CIH), or eligible within the first year of employment.
This individual will be expected to have strong communication skills as well as business and technical skills to lead the management team and the professionals on the team to ensure that client needs are being met or exceeded, projects are on schedule and under budget and a quality product or service is provided. The individual will need to have excellent time management, communication, industrial hygiene/safety technical, writing, and proof-reading skills.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Conducting industrial hygiene surveys to determine exposure to materials or conditions such as temperature, noise, dusts, fumes, vapors, mists, gases, solvents and radiation, which are known or suspected of being true or potential health hazards
· Conducting ventilation surveys
· Implementing or recommending control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions
· Participating in the presentation of safety and health training
· Preparing professional survey reports on services provided
· Establishing and developing client relationships and developing additional business
· Client project management
Candidates must have:
· Good problem-solving skills as well as technical and analytical skills
· Computer proficiency in Windows-based office programs such as: Microsoft Excel and Word applications
· Good oral and written communication skills
· Good organizational and time management skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Marketing and business development skills
· Supervisory and management skills
Job requires travel with a combination of day trips and overnight stays; however, most travel usually does not involve extensive/ long-term stays. On occasion, weekend work is needed.
