Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to drive accounting at Hold Company level, ensure Reporting Compliance, and guarantee processes are executed in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The Controller will lead the accounting staff at the holding company level, providing leadership and accountability for accounting and financial reporting across multiple entities within required timelines.

We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to be responsible for our Holding Company, Claims Company, Service Company and MGA Companies within the AM Holding Group.

Major Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting:Accountable for the monthly close process and GAAP financial reporting requirements. Responsible for completing quarterly and annual GAAP statements.
• Internal Controls:Prevent inaccuracies in financial statements by maintaining and updating internal control systems and adopting proper policies for financial reporting.
• Budgeting and Cash Flow:Oversee budget forecasting and cash flow management.
• Regulatory Compliance:Stay current with changes in GAAP rules and regulations, and assess their business impact.
• Risk Management:Escalate risks and proactively resolve issues.
• Financial Analysis:Assist the CFO with financial analysis, capital management, and support business transactions.
• Audit Management:Manage GAAP audits with internal and external audit firms.
• Team Development:Mentor and develop team members to ensure strong technical competencies.
• Process Improvement:Implement improvement opportunities in accounting and reporting, utilizing reporting software and internal databases.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred
• CPA preferred
• 7 years of experience in insurance and statutory/GAAP insurance reporting
• Team-oriented and process-driven
• Strong technical insurance accounting experience with a good understanding of insurance operations
• Proven track record of process improvements and implementations in prior roles
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to develop and maintain internal and external relationships
• Strong technical accounting knowledge to report on GAAP basis of accounting
• Strong communication, listening, and leadership skills to drive organizational change
• Proactive, hands-on attitude, goal-oriented, and perseverant
