The Head of Financial Reporting works under the guidance of and assists the Chief Accounting Officer in preparing and reporting financial statements conforming to principles of accounting and regulatory requirements. The role is directly responsible for managing the preparation of our regulatory and SEC filings, including the 10-Qs and 10-K, and coordination with our legal team with respect to the Proxy Statement and miscellaneous filings.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Responsible for the Quarterly and Annual Reports on Form 10-Q/K and manage the internal and external review for these documents
2. Responsible for regulatory reporting schedules, including the call report and other related filings (FR Y-9C, FR Y-9LP, etc.), summary of deposits, VOSR, and HUD (Net Worth Schedule and LEAP filing, etc.)
3. Responsible for quarterly earnings release and other investor related filings
4. Prepare and review internal and Board of Directors financial reporting
5. Responsible for identification of evolving accounting standards and disclosure requirements. Prepare U.S. GAAP interpretation and technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner in order to explain accounting issues to the management team or Board members. Specifically, Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (“ESG”) reporting in accordance with regulatory, FASB and SEC requirements
6. Manage communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosures, and issues
7. Manage Axiom database for items specific to financial reporting, including file imports and automated reporting tasks
8. Manage Workiva Financial Reporting module for items specific to financial reporting
9. Implement and maintain reporting policies and procedures to comply with internal control requirements (SOX environment)
10. Manages month end, quarter end and year end closing process, including maintaining financial reporting calendar for all key milestones
11. Participate in other projects as required
12. Perform other duties as directed

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements :

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Certified Public Accountant license desired
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in financial reporting role or banking industry in public accounting sector
3. Excellent knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, and FDIC reporting requirements
4. Superior proficiency in MS Excel and other system knowledge desirable; Prologue, FIS Horizon, Axiom and Workiva preferred
5. Practical training or experience in a public accounting firm is beneficial
6. Supervisory experience is preferred
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
8. Good organizational, time management, and leadership abilities

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is $120,000.00 - $140,000.00. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
