Primary Purpose: To provide for the delivery of technical assistance and professional development in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of activities that address the unique needs of the Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in specialized area. Create an effective and efficient planning process based on pertinent student, campus, and district data sources for the purpose of assisting LEAs in instructional improvement and the meeting of LEA and ESC accountability requirements while utilizing High Quality Instructional Materials. Qualifications: Education/Certification:Bachelor’s degree requiredMaster’s degree preferredTexas teaching certification required Special Knowledge/Skills/Experience:Experience teaching in specialized area requiredSuccessful classroom teaching experience, experience with the TEKS Resource System, experience in instructional coaching or related activities, and experience working with campus level administrators preferredDemonstrated ability to set goals and problem-solveDemonstrated ability to manage time, calendar, job responsibilities, and travelDemonstrated ability to contribute to team and organizational goalsExperience with teacher support preferredProven ability to deliver content-specific professional development as well as systemic best practice (e.g., campus-wide/district-wide) professional developmentProven ability to train and coach personnel in various school roles (e.g., teachers, support staff, principals, central office staff, superintendent) Working Conditions: Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripheralsPosture: Must be physically able to tolerate prolonged sitting, frequent standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting, and standingMotion: Must be physically able to tolerate frequent standing and walking, repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching, occasional drivingLifting: Must be physically able to tolerate regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds or more)Environment: Must be physically able to work inside; tolerate frequent districtwide travel and occasional statewide travel; regular exposure to noiseMental Demands: Must be able to work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours on occasionRegular Attendance is an essential functionAnnual Number of Work Days: 226
