PRIMARY PURPOSE :
Compile and prepare regular district payroll, including related reports and deposits. Work under moderate supervision to ensure accurate and timely preparation of payroll records according to prescribed procedures and regulations.
Serve as a liaison between Human Resources and Payroll.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Minimum Education / Certification :
High school diploma or equivalent
Typing test >
40 WPM required
Special Knowledge / Skills :
Ability to use computer and software to develop spreadsheets and do word processing
Proficient in keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry, and file maintenance / scanning
Ability to work with numbers in an accurate and rapid manner to meet established deadlines
Knowledge of basic payroll accounting and data processing systems
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to use software to create spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Work Conditions :
Tools / Equipment Used : Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture : Prolonged sitting; occasional bending / stooping, pushing / pulling, and twisting
Motion : Repetitive hand motions including prolonged keyboarding & use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting : Occasional lifting and carrying (less than 40 pounds)
Environment : Work with frequent interruptions; Must maintain professional demeanor under stress; Must have problem solving skills.
Regular attendance is an essential function.
Minimum Experience :
Financial clerical experience, preferably in a public school.
