The Site Coordinator will assume a multifaceted role in the oversight and management of the after school program. This position involves supervision of instructors and efficient management of program logistics. To ensure a safe and engaging environment for participating students, the Site Coordinator will be on-site daily to oversee the diverse enrichment classes. The role includes consistent and timely communication with instructors, parents, school administration and upper management. The Site Coordinator will be responsible for the maintenance and coordination of after school supplies and classroom spaces.

Amazing Athletes is the leading youth sports and education program, dedicated to delivering high-quality instruction and fostering a love of learning and activity amongst youth. We are expanding as the after school provider in the NY-metro area, so currently seeking a dynamic, responsible multi-tasker to join our team!

Work Schedule / Location:

  • Monday-Friday
  • 9am-1pm work from home
  • 2-6pm work onsite at PS 166 - The Richard Rodgers School of The Arts and Technology (132 W 89th Street, Manhattan, NY)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Management:
    1. Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure a safe, organized, positive environment
    2. Build class schedules
    3. Manage and delegate responsibilities related to transition and dismissal times
    4. Work with school staff to coordinate logistics and address any concerns
    5. Conduct daily walk-throughs of classroom spaces once activities have concluded
  2. Staff Supervision:
    1. Provide ongoing support and professional development for instructors
    2. Establish and lead quarterly trainings, as well as yearly Kick-Off Meeting
    3. Conduct regular performance evaluations and update instructor logs
    4. Implement improvement plans as necessary
    5. Cultivate a positive and collaborative working environment
  3. Recess Management
    1. Work with the school to implement a structured and engaging recess program promoting physical activity and positive behaviors
    2. Provide supervision to recess staff to ensure safety and well-being of students
  4. Administrative Tasks
    1. Manage daily staffing assignments
    2. Maintain accurate records of program attendance and instructor schedules
    3. Assist in promoting and investigating incident reports; follow up with Director and HR where required, taking appropriate health and safety action
    4. Work closely with higher management to maintain open and effective communication with parents regarding program activities, updates and requests
    5. Adhere to program budgets, track expenses and ensure financial accountability

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, child development or a related field
  • Previous experience in program management, preferably in an educational setting
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with ability to multitask, problem solve and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills for interacting with instructors, students, parents, higher management and school administration/staff
  • Knowledge of child development, pedagogy, and educational best practices
  • CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse, and other related school certifications required
  • Preferably based in NYC
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish, a plus
