DescriptionWe are looking for a seasoned software development manager to own the product strategy, development, launch, and ongoing execution for new applications. In this position, you will assume the leadership of a dynamic team of highly motivated software developers dedicated to tackling complex challenges through innovative solutions. Your primary responsibility will involve guiding the team in the design, development, testing, and deployment of distributed machine learning systems and large-scale solutions to cater to our global customer base. Taking charge of system architecture, you will champion best practices to ensure the delivery of a high-quality product. Your role will also involve mentoring and developing junior engineers, fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in engineering large-scale software systems, possess strong technical acumen, excel in communication, and demonstrate a drive to achieve results within a fast-paced environment.
About The TeamThe AWS Supply Chain Applications team builds powerful, intuitive, and market-defining business to help our customers stay ahead of their changing business needs, and remove the burden of undifferentiated heavy lifting that business users go through daily. We are building a new category of AWS applications that will leverage the power of machine learning and the large ecosystem of AWS services such as SageMaker, AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, and Amazon QuickSight to provide a truly frustration-free, easy-to-use, extensible, and natural customer experience. This is a unique green-field chance to build something from scratch, and has tremendous opportunity for career growth.
Basic Qualifications
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Basic Qualifications
- 3 years of engineering team management experience
- 7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
