DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Sr. UX Manager to work with partners, set a strategic design vision and drive innovation for the Delivery Experience (DEX) organization. DEX’s vision is to make Amazon every customer’s most-loved shopping destination by building and enabling intuitive delivery experiences that improve customers’ lives; making it easy to control when, where, and how they receive Earth’s largest selection.
As Sr. UX Manager, you will empower and inspire cross-functional leaders to innovate on behalf of Amazon customers globally. You leverage super powers in communication and relationship building to partner with leaders to establish a bold strategic vision for your organization and customer experiences. As a team leader you will hire, develop, and lead a team of UX Designers; empower them to deliver CX innovations that meet customer needs across the end-to-end customer journey. You lead teams by leveraging data, trends, and intuition to create and evolve experiences that delight customers. You are outcome-oriented using deep expertise in UX methodology; thoughtfully integrate customer needs, display technical acumen, and think long-term to unlock measurable value for customers. You will also be a cornerstone of design leadership in the larger Amazon Delivery Experience design team.
Key job responsibilities
• Work cross-functionally to drive elegant design solutions from early concept through final implementation and iteration.
• Define, develop, and socialize the vision for innovative new solutions, solving some of our toughest delivery challenges through design-driven approaches.
• Hire, coach, and support a multi-disciplinary design team; act as a role model, mentor, and motivator in creating a diverse and inclusive working environment.
• Champion cohesion in design that reduces complexity and simplifies the growing family of delivery programs and features, while fostering a collaborative culture of research and innovation.
• Lead cross-team conceptual development; work across multiple organizations to identify overlaps and efficiencies in design and product thinking.
• Proactively plan ahead, look around corners, and effectively partner with design, product, and engineering counterparts to plan/prioritize work, resolve issues, and remove roadblocks.
• Use data and customer insights to confidently defend design solutions with senior leaders.
• Lead brainstorming and critique sessions that foster big thinking while raising the bar on the details.
• Use systems-level design thinking to drive design solutions that scale from your team.
• Creating accessible and scalable customer experiences
A day in the life
The role involves close partnership with senior product managers, tech leaders, and partner teams to deliver high-impact design work at a global scale. The design leader embodies and instills in their team customer-centric judgment in all parts of the design process, enables their team to validate their design strategies, and maintains the highest design standards, relentlessly advocating for high quality customer experiences.
About the team
The DEX Design team is a multi-disciplinary group with skill sets spanning UX Design, UX Writing, Visual Design, Research, and Marketing. In order to deliver smiles we focus our innovation on:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 years of design experience
- 5 years of leading multi-discipline Design teams (ie. visual design, interaction design, user research, etc.) experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience leading design teams of 5 to 10 or more direct reports
- Experience presenting to and effectively advising senior leaders outside of design
- Experience embedding design within product teams for agile design and development collaboration

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $144,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $268,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
