Job Summary
General Description
Thestaff physical therapist has the responsibility for evaluation, consultationand treatment of patients, as well as, the overall utilization, supervision andinstruction of professional and supportive staff, volunteers and students intheir area of physical therapy as it pertains to the care of their patients.
Responsibility
Is proactive in ensuring that patient is progressedto prior level of function or maximum medical improvement per Plan of Care. Performs an appropriate assessment on each patient, asrelated to the therapy requested and reassessments as per policy. This includespediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patientpopulation. Maintains records pertinentto patient care including progress reports, daily notes, special reports asrequested, and supervision of Physical TherapistAssistants.
Accountability
The Physical Therapist reports directly to the RehabilitationDepartment Manager.
SpecialDemands
Mental: Astute communication skills with employees,physicians, visitors, patients/families and Administration. Ability to adjust to job situations, whichinvolve many different people and projects, requiring some independent actionand judgment.
Physical: Flexibility to work in continually changing conditions. Must have manual dexterity to operateequipment and to provide hands-on assessment, assistance and exercise topatients. Ability to lift and move patient with or without assistance and maneuverequipment greater than or equal to 20 pounds. Agility is required for frequent changes in position. Visual and hearing acuity required to receivefeedback and information from patients. Ability to effectively counsel patientsand their families.
Qualifications
Education: Earned degree from an accredited programin Physical Therapy.
Experience: NewGraduates and experience welcome.
Current Colorado Licensure.
WorkingEnvironment
Providestreatment in multiple settings including inpatient, outpatient and homehealth. Full Time position workingMonday through Friday, occasional weekend coveragefor inpatient/swing bed evaluations. Stress of meeting deadlines, busy environment, numerous interruptions,exposure to emergency situations, extended hours depending upon job necessity.
SalaryRange
Pay range: *** - ***per hour based on experience. This is anexempt position. This is a fulltime benefitted position that includes, paidtime off, paid sick time, holiday pay, Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance,life and disability insurance and automatic enrollment in retirement plan withemployer match. Relocation and TuitionReimbursement Assistance Available.
