The RoleAMD seeks an experienced corporate communications professional with demonstrated expertise in planning and executing communications (for example including narrative development, external event content development and leader preparation, press and analysts briefing preparation, and employee communications including emails, All Hands, roundtables) for a fast-paced and growing global organization. This role is focused on both internal and external communications strategy and execution, spanning thought leadership and brand recognition, as well as ensuring that AMD employees remain aligned and engaged around the company strategy, values, and growth opportunities.
The PersonThe right person must be an excellent communicator and strong writer with the ability to simplify complex concepts. You’ll need to be able to manage multiple programs at once, in a fast-paced environment, and be able to pivot quickly when needed. You must have solid experience developing and executing strategic external and employee communications plans, with knowledge of, and experience in, the semiconductor market - specifically focused on the PC and Gaming space - being particularly valuable. Previous experience working with senior executives is a must. The ability to successfully collaborate with other communicators, human resources, business function leads and employees, to align communications programs across the company, is critical.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe position entails developing and managing strong partnerships with C suite-level and senior business/regional leaders, while developing and delivering comprehensive external and internal communication strategies in support of thought leadership, brand recognition, business strategy recall, and employee engagement.
Preferred Experience
- Narrative development, in alignment with corporate strategy and vision.
- Demonstrated background creating content and messaging for diverse internal/external audiences across a variety of formats, including marquee events attendance, press and analyst relationships, social amplification, and employee communications.
- A track record of working closely with senior executives as a strategic communications counselor on communications strategies and activities.
- Act as a partner to the business functions to address general employee engagement needs.
- Ability to collaborate, develop strong working relationships, and demonstrate horizontal leadership capabilities within a matrixed organization environment.
- Strong ability to drive content creation and creative direction of PowerPoints and oversight of presentation development.
- Experience delivering large employee communication events (All Hands, Town Halls etc) events, from content strategy development to execution.
- Ability to think and communicate clearly. The ideal candidate will routinely take complicated issues and create concise communications deliverables to effectively communicate the company’s point of view.
- Excellent writing skills, painstaking attention to details, and ability to navigate ambiguous issues to create concise messaging and plans.
- The ability to work effectively under deadline and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Impeccable organizational skills
- Proven experience in balancing confidential information and effective decision making under pressure.
LOCATION: Austin, TX
