Amentum is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our industrial operations and maintenance team at a major pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in the San Diego, CA. area.
The typical work schedule for this role is 3rd shift, Wednesday-Saturday, 8:30 pm to 6:00 am; various hours may be required based on business demand.
**Hiring hourly range:** $30-$35 (hourly/salary rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data).

The Facilities Technician is responsible for responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive and corrective maintenance on the facility mechanical, electrical and HVAC equipment and systems in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
The Facilities Technician will perform many daily general duties, including:
Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing facility mechanical systems, facility HVAC equipment and systems, and pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems.
Conducting preventive maintenance inspections and performing required preventive maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, and more.
Troubleshooting and repairing various mechanical and industrial systems.
Performing basic repairs on water, compressed air, and steam lines.
Monitor, assess, and respond to critical systems alarms.
Performing preventive maintenance on mechanical and operating systems.
Responding and providing service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Recommending measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
Analyzing and resolving work problems, or assisting workers in solving work problems
Understanding company policies and enforcing safety regulations. Performing daily duties of the position in a safe manner by following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tag-out procedures while wearing PPE as required.

**Minimum Requirements:**
High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
Five years of experience as a maintenance technician or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work in a highly regulated environment and diagnose and troubleshoot basic mechanical equipment, pumps, fans, chillers, rooftop AHUs, split systems, compressors, refrigeration, and more.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and successfully complete a fit test for each type of respirator needed for the position or for an approved alternate respirator that provides equal or better protection from identified hazards.
Ability to work overtime when required, including holidays and weekends.
Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

**Some physical requirements include:**
Regularly lift to 50 lbs.
Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding
Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement.
Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions
Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
Special Requirements: Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed. Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Associate degree in HVAC, industrial mechanical, industrial electrical, or a related skilled trade.
Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, supply and exhaust fans, power transmission components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and more.
Experience troubleshooting and/or repairing HVAC with building automation systems (especially Johnson Controls, Metasys and REES) in an industrial or research facility environment.
