We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Manager of SEC Reporting to play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of financial reporting processes within the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of SEC reporting requirements, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and other departments to drive consistency and transparency in financial reporting practices. Responsibilities will include
Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, statement of cash flows, footnotes, MD&A and other necessary supporting documents for the Company’s quarterly and annual Form 6-K and 20-F’s, in compliance with SEC regulations and deadlines.
Prepare and manage quarterly and yearly SEC reporting, including coordination with external auditors, executives, finance, legal and investor relations.
Deliver accurate, compliant, and timely execution of accounting and reporting processes, financial closes, and related reporting for assigned areas and topics.
Develop and maintain internal controls related to financial reporting processes to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
Review financial statements, analyze periodic financial results, and assess & communicate financial risks and opportunities.
Analysis of key financial statement variances and preparation of MD&A and otherkey SEC disclosures.
Manage preparation of certain aspects of materials to be presented to the audit committee of the board of directors and coordinate presentation topics with other departments, including Tax, Treasury, Finance, and Internal Audit, and the external auditors.
Partner with cross-functional teams to prepare relevant materials and presentations consistent with SEC filings, including analyst presentations and other materials.
Ensure the Company properly applies IFRS/US GAAP to recurring and non-recurring transactions.
Ensure the Company’s accounting policies and procedures consistently comply with IFRS/US GAAP.
Continuously evaluate and enhance financial reporting processes and procedures to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
Ad hoc reporting or technical assistance on transactions.
This role requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field, and a CPA designation. We are seeking a candidate with a minimum 6 years of solid experience in technical accounting, SEC reporting, and financial analysis, preferably in public accounting or a publicly traded company. Other qualifications include
Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX requirements. IFRS a plus.
Demonstrated ability to research and interpret complex accounting issues and provide practical solutions.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Proven leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally.
This role is ideally based in the New York City or Chicagoland area, though remote based candidates are encouraged to apply as we are prioritizing candidate fit over physical location.
In New York, this role will work a flexible hybrid model based in our New York Office, located in the Flatiron District.
In Chicago, this role will work a flexible hybrid model based at Wilson Sporting Goods Co. global headquarters.
