GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining an assigned account portfolio
- Apply advanced analytical skills techniques to research, validate, and resolve deductions, short payments, and discrepancies
- Utilize A/R data to identify trends, issues, inefficiencies, delinquent accounts, and collection opportunities
- Accountable for maintaining acceptable account balances and reducing delinquency for assigned accounts
- Process customer reconciliations, credit memos, billing requests, account adjustments, and small balance write offs
- Investigate and resolve outstanding payment issues with customers
- Support A/R Manager as needed with various projects and other tasks and duties necessary to support the department
- Enlist the efforts of sales and senior management when necessary, to accelerate the collection process
- Must communicate & follow up effectively with sales department regarding customer accounts on a timely basis
- Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers and sales
- Weekly and monthly reporting to manager
- Cash application and back-up team support
- Contribute to A/R policy and procedure improvements
- 5 years accounts receivable, collections, general ledger and analytical experience required; transferrable skills may be considered
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or a related field is preferred, but not required
- Basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, and data analysis
- Excel savvy - Intermediate excel skills required
- Ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical focused, naturally curious, be self-motivated, and adaptable to change
- Possess a strong work ethic, works well in teams, and possess strong multi-tasking ability, with organizational and time management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to propose solutions to resolve issues
- Experience working in S2K or AS400, a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner both verbally and in writing
